October Sky is a 1999 American biographical film directed by Joe Johnston .
If you Have a dream , then you should believe in yourself and achieve it with your knowledge and hard work and this film gives you an inspiration for that . October Sky is based on a true story .
This film is heart touching as well as a feel good movie . Classy direction , feel good bgm and excellent casting made this movie a perfect watch .
This film is the story of Homer Hickam , his father works in a coal mining factory . His father wants him to work in the mines . But one day Homer sees a rocket flying over the skies and that inspires him to build a rocket , With the help of his friends and his teacher he got a chance to enter National science fest . His father is not supportive in his rocket project , But how he overcomes these difficulties make the crux of the film .
The story may be predictable but with the perfect dramatic narration predictability doesn't matter .Filled with lot of emotional and heart touching situations the director had succeeded in keeping viewers engaged in the movie .
Superb casting and Natural performance of the actors is another positive element . Jake Gyllenhaal is perfect as homer , Wonderful performance by him !
Music is top notch . Feel good bgm in the climax scenes will give you goosebumps for sure !
Film may lose track in the mid portions but sure comes backs , this may affect the total flow of the film .
October sky gives many feel good scenes ,
* When rocket boys successful launch the rocket for the first time , Happiness in the face of their teacher gives you a very good feel
* Climax rocket launching gives you goosebumps for sure ! that's the best scene in the movie.
October sky is a must watch movie . This movie is highly inspiring .
Overall : A perfect feel good and inspirational movie . Highly recommended
